As a dog trainer and behaviour consultant, every 5th client tells me that their dog is 'dominant', to which I have to bite my tongue. I know what they are implying, that in certain situations their dog is a little boisterous, or perhaps over confident, or perhaps has learnt that using brute forge helps him to get what he wants.
Often allowing your dog to free feed (that is, pick and choose when they eat) can lead to many problems and side effects.
If food is always available, it loses value to the dog, and they can become disinterested in eating and fussy eaters. This can lead to problems for dog owners as they will constantly worry has the dog eaten / its difficult to monitor the dogs uptake.
Lots to share !
